Would it be possible to add a feature to edit the map or distance traveled to the map tracks uploaded. Sometimes the gps loses signal and the distance it says you walked or run is wrong. Is this a feature that might be added.

Thanks for your post! We currently implement a feature like that. It's not that easy to cope with all use cases... so it takes some time. It will be possible to move/edit, add or delete passages of your track.

Thank you for responding so quickly. That would be a really nice feature when it comes out. :)

Hi SmartRunner Team,
I am a huge fan of being able to modify tracks even if it doesn't immediately begin with a full blown GUI. I work with data, and have tried on a number of occasions to download .gpx tracks with errors and removing the offending <trkpt> data </trkpt>. However, I have not had a lot of luck uploading these modified files.
For example, I ride my bike to and from work on a finite set of routes. Sometimes when I forget to start Smartrunner, I have exported a previously recorded track, modified the date value, but somehow the time and date shift. It would be great to get some documentation on how the import/export functionality works so I can understand why an upload fails or minimally the requirements for a data file to be successfully uploaded.
On a related note it would be nice to be able to create "dumb tracks" to log distance when smartrunner isn't working.
For example, I was in Rural WI this weekend and smart-runner wouldn't work because I did not have a 3G connection. I know from plotting my course in Google maps that I rode 21 miles. I would like to be able to add that distance as a "dumb track" on smart-runner so I can keep accurate training data despite having gone on a "dumb" ride.
Cheers, Nathan

Thanks for your post, Nathan,
you can use the exported tracks from SmartRunner as reference. The handling of datetime information is not that good at the moment. We want to change this soon. Until we fixed this, you can adjust the datetime information at the waypoints like this: the first <wpt>-time information is "[startdate] 00:00:00", second one like ""[startdate] 00:00:02", third one like "[startdate] 00:00:04" and so on. Time accumulates. It's not that good, but this should work for you.
We currently prepare a page, where you can click a track by hand on a map. Would this be enough for you or do you prefer to only insert values like distance and time?

Hi Thomas,
Creating a track by clicking on a map within SmartRunner would be the preferred way to go. I only know how far I rode because I created a custom path in google maps, and what you are building would save that step.
Thanks, Nathan
